When he's not busy tending to his patients in the ER and teaching emergency medicine to the future doctors of tomorrow, Dr. James Moises indulges in his other passion: making fine wine. A New Orleans native, James began his wine project back in 2001 when he and fellow resident Mark Whale began scouting vineyard locations in the Willamette Valley of Mark's home state of Oregon. Ten years later, Moises Wines has celebrated the release of its third vintage of fine Oregon pinot noir, allocating nearly all of its production to the New Orleans area. Additionally, James has begun representing a host of other Oregon winemakers, and on Saturday April 16th he offers you a special chance to taste what the Willamette Valley has to offer.

Vintage Orleans presents "Moises at the Mansion", a multi-course food and wine tasting event on the beautiful grounds of Sully Mansion . Ben Lazich from The Wine Seller will be pouring a selection of Oregon's finest wines from the Krewe du Bizou portfolio, and Dr. Moises will be on hand to talk about each of the wines, including his own Holmes Hill Pinot Noir. Food pairings will be cooked on premises by Chef Gason Yen Nelson, personal chef to Saints running back Reggie Bush and private chef for hire.

Tickets to this reception style tasting are $65 per person. Reservations are required, and admission is limited. For more information and to purchase tickets, email VintageOrleans@gmail.com
